Own the Moment Series: Christian Karembeu

At just 17 years old, Christian Karembeu moved from New Caledonia (a French territory in the South Pacific) to mainland France to study and play soccer. This risk paid off as he went on to represent France on the world stage and win the 1998 FIFA World Cup. A versatile player, he helped carry many teams to victory throughout his career, including Real Madrid’s successful Champions League campaigns in 1997/1998 and 1999/2000. To learn more about Karembeu’s journey to fame, check out the final episode of our #OwnTheMoment series.
